Aerobic biodegradation

Nutrient formula: Bush Brew 2.0

To clean up hydrocarbons, aerobic or denitrifying biodegradation is the way to go. Hydrocarbons are oxidised by microbes using oxygen or nitrate as the electron acceptor. To encourage this activity, a specialised media based on Bushnell-Hass broth, developed in the 1940s, is recommended. This media is free of reduced organic compounds, and provides bioavailable nitrogen, phosphorus and iron. It is recommended to undertake bench tests prior to attempting biostimulation, but Novorem can provide this nutrient formula independently of other services.
