Anaerobic biodegradation

Nutrient formula: Bioready

Biodegradation of chlorinated solvents occurs in strictly anaerobic (oxygen-free) conditions. In this case, the organochlorine acts an the electron acceptor, rather than oxygen. To stimulate this process, the addition of electron donors (reduced organic compounds such as lactate, or emulsified vegetable oil) is often advised. Novorem provides a proprietary formulation to prepare groundwater for reductive dechlorination activity. Based on a decade’s experience with in situ bioremediation projects, nutrient formulas contain electron donors in addition to the bioavailable nitrogen and phosphorus.  It is recommended to undertake bench tests prior to attempting biostimulation, but Novorem can provide this nutrient formula independently of other services.
